Trip Overview:

The North of Mallorca is worlds away from the crammed beaches and rammed resorts of the South. This trip is about exploring one location in depth, and enjoying all the region has to offer. Take your time getting down to Mallorca, through Southern France and Barcelona, before taking an overnight ferry to Palma.

For the main part of your trip, stay in the Soller region of the island, in one of our approved hotels or guesthouses. Each location has been chosen for its situation in nature, relaxing atmosphere and proximity to great local hikes, producers and nature spots to enjoy. This way you're able to explore much of what the area has to offer without relying on a car.

While this trip is self guided, we include several exclusive experiences for you to enjoy during your trip
This trip works well for making the most of limited holiday while providing ample time to relax. You can depart on a Friday, enjoy 12 days break, and return the following Monday or Tuesday.

Day 1

London - Lyon:

Board an early morning Eurostar ready to start your journey. Take the train to Lille, where you'll hop off and enjoy a quick lunch break in the Northern French city. Next hop on the train to Lyon.

Day 2:

Enjoy a leisurely morning in Lyon before you travel on the TGV to Barcelona. Arrive in the Catalan capital between 5 and 8pm, in time to sample the city's famous culinary scene. Barcelona Sants has luggage storage available and is situated in the centre of the city, just a couple of metro stops from the famous Ramblas. But, we'd encourage you to avoid the tourist zone in favour of independent eateries in the university district by the station. Your ferry leaves at 11pm from the port, so there's plenty of time to enjoy some local treats before you head on.

Day 3:

Travel overnight by ferry to the port of Palma, arriving early morning - an en-suite cabin ensures you'll arrive well rested! It's your choice whether to travel on to your hotel in Soller by bus first thing, or stash your luggage at Plaza De Espana and spend the morning exploring Palma. Whenever you choose to travel, you'll take the bus to your hotel, located in Soller, Valledemossa or Deia. This bus journey is an experience in itself, with stunning panoramic views across the cliffs and coast. Arrive at your hotel and get settled.

Day 4-10:

You have a week to relax in the stunning surroundings of Soller. Here is a place for quiet reflection, relaxing in nature, spontaneous stumbles to the pebbly beach, hiking, sampling local produce and investing in the local culture. During your week in Soller you'll enjoy the following activities at times of your chosing:

  • Full day guided hike, including lunch
  • Private workshop to create your own herbal liquor - Hierbas. You'll walk up to the hills to gather local herbs, before making your own to take home - accompanied by local wine and snacks.
  • Olive oil tasting and wine tasting in Valledemossa with a local producer
Available to add:
  • Tapas experience in Palma
  • Additional guiding and transport services

Day 10:

Travel back to Palma and pick up your overnight ferry. Leave late at night from Palma, arriving in Barcelona the following morning.

Day 11:

After arriving in Barcelona, grab breakfast and a picnic to take with you on the train and hop onto the morning TGV back to Paris. Arrive in Paris around 5pm. Transfer to Gare de Lyon and travel back to the UK that evening - or spend the night in Paris before heading home the following day.
